Maktab (“we”, “us”) runs a free educational video website for students. We care about keeping things simple and collecting as little about you as possible. This policy explains what we collect and why.
This is a plain-language starter policy for a free, low-data service. Please have it reviewed against your final data practices and local law before relying on it.
1. What we collect
- Nothing required to watch. You can browse and watch series without creating an account or giving us any personal details.
- Messages you send us. If you email us or use the contact form, we receive your name, email address and message so we can reply.
- Basic analytics. Like most websites, we may collect anonymous, aggregated usage data (pages visited, device type, approximate region) to understand what's useful and improve the site.
2. How we use it
To operate and improve Maktab, respond to your messages, and understand which series are helpful. We do not sell your personal information, and we don't use it to advertise to you.
3. Cookies
We use only the cookies needed to run the site and, where enabled, basic analytics. You can control cookies through your browser settings and any cookie banner shown on the site.
4. Third-party content
Videos may be embedded from third-party platforms such as YouTube or Vimeo. When a video loads, that provider may set its own cookies and collect data under its own privacy policy, which we don't control.
5. Children's privacy
Maktab is made for students, including school-age children. We do not knowingly collect more personal information than necessary from anyone, and we never require a child to provide personal details to watch a series. If you believe a child has sent us personal information you'd like removed, email us and we'll delete it.
6. Data retention
We keep contact messages only as long as needed to help you, then delete them. Aggregated analytics may be kept in anonymous form.
7. Your rights
You can ask us what information we hold about you, and ask us to correct or delete it. Just email [email protected].
8. Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. The “last updated” date above will always reflect the current version.
