This video lecture from Carboxylic Acids (F.Sc. second year Chemistry) covers the reactions of carboxylic acids in which the hydroxyl group is involved. When alcohols react with carboxylic acids, a substitution reaction takes place where by hydroxyl- group and hydrogen are eliminated from alcohol and acid respectively to produce water.
